Thursday 8th May 2014
Following on from the planned closure and refurbishment of the Drift at the end of April, we're thrilled to announce that the Drift re-launched to the public on May 2nd and is open for business.
There have been some big changes including the complete refurbishment, a brand new cocktails menu designed by London mixologist, Gavin Forbes, as well as the inclusion of plenty of booth and table space. A brand new advanced sound and lighting system has been installed with plenty state of the art features to keep guests enthralled. Door policy is stricter with over 21's only and guests are reminded to dress to impress.
Then we launch...
450 specially invited guests helped us celebrate the royally revamped Drift nightspot on May 1 followed by a public launch on May 2, with the mother of all parties.
On the dot of 6.30pm curious revellers flocked along the red carpet and over our interactive digital nautical installation into renowned designer Malcolm King’s completed vision.
Cocktail maestro Gavin Forbes kept the party cavalry suitably hydrated with his expert creations among which the Liquide de la Mer went down a storm and facilitated a rapturous reception for Cabaret Rouge’s seductive Tango apache performance.
Top London DJ Nicole Kasenko; the first of many of the big smokes DJ’s to grace our stage over the coming weeks with our London Calling nights, kicked off an uplifting set and set the bar suitably high for High on Heels’ high octane live performance which followed and set the dance floor on fire and ensued a run on our new signature shot The Yacht shot.
As the indoor flares trailed through the club in quick succession, we needed no further proof that our new sharing cocktail The Captain’s Chest was proving a great hit with guests who had taken one of our new reservable booths.
And so as the night wound down and our doors finally closed, we now usher in a new era for the Drift and look forward to seeing you again soon.
