Alcino Vieira General Manager

As the general manager of the old Royal Yacht for the last 18 years Alcino is the longest serving member of staff and knows the business like the back of his hand.

Originally from Madeira, Alcino has been living in Jersey for 33 years. He is married to Vanda and they have 3 children. When not busy running The Royal Yacht Alcino enjoys water sports and loves to go out jet-skiing or scuba diving.

Michelle Reidy Deputy General Manager

Originally from Ireland, Michelle has gained certificates in Hotel & Catering Supervision and Business Studies. Michelle began working at The Royal Yacht in 1997 and her experience has been essential in ensuring a smooth transition from the old business to the new development.

Working her way up from Head Receptionist to Assistant Manager to Front of House Manager, Michelle is now Deputy General Manager, assisting the General Manager with the day to day running of the hotel.

Passionate about food, Steve and Inaka both pride themselves on the quality of the dishes served in the Royal Yacht’s three restaurants as well as room service.

They both love local produce but are not afraid to add ingredients from far flung and wonderful places, creating vibrant and delicious dishes to suit any kind of palate.

Judith Peebles Wedding and Special Events Senior Co-ordinator

Working at The Royal Yacht since January 2008, Judith has taken to the role of Wedding and Special Events Senior Co-ordinator with a very hands on approach. Her commitment to the guests is rivalled only by her passion for the job and the island.

Judith has a broad range of experience in the hospitality industry which has given her expertise in a variety of sectors. From business meetings to golfing tournaments, and corporate events to private weddings on both small and large scales, she has the knowledge and organisation to make every event a memorable occasion.

Caroline Lilley Spa Manager

Caroline came to Jersey in 2007, bringing with her a wealth of experience. Her ambitions were to join the spa and give first class treatments and have a quiet life. However in May 2011 she was promoted to Spa manager and life is no longer quiet. Caroline says “Spa Sirène is truly gorgeous. The ambience and tranquility that has been created by the amazing design, use of colored lighting and first class facilities, give you an immediate sense of relaxation and you feel totally cocooned and blissfully unaware of time”.

Wanting to continue the good reputation which Spa Sirène has achieved, both on and off Island, Caroline insists on only the highest standards of customer service and treatments, “I am exceptionally lucky to have an excellent team of staff who are all highly professional, conscientious and take get pride at working at Spa Sirène.”.

Steve Wilson Facilities/Maintenance Manager

Whilst originally from London, Steve has considered Jersey his home since moving here in 1969. Beginning his career in the building industry in 1979, Steve has a wealth of experience, including working for ten years as Maintenance Manager and Health & Safety Officer for Deutsche Bank’s portfolio companies.

In January 2008 Steve began work for The Royal Yacht and Lodestar Group where he manages all facilities and maintenance responsibilities, whilst also acting as the Hotel Health & Safety Officer. Steve’s success in his role is (literally) visible throughout the Hotel in the preservation and enhancement of the high standards and finish of the building both internally and externally by himself and his team.

Jacqueline McDermott Head of Sales & Business Development

The past 15 years of working within the finance industry and hospitality sector has given Jacqueline vast experience and an eye for detail that has stood her in good stead whilst organising countless high profile and private events. Her passion for events both big and small are tackled with an enthusiastic and calm approach by Jacqueline and her team of coordinators, allowing the client peace of mind to relax and enjoy the event.

Jacqueline treats every event as an individual occasion and thinking outside of the box and suggesting new and exciting themes are what her team excel at, ensuring clients are provided with a total experience to cherish and remember for years to come.

Sandra Diggelmann Front of House Manager

Sandra has been a member of The Royal Yacht team since the revamped hotel opened its doors in July 2007 and is instrumental in ensuring the day to day running of the front of house, ensuring outstanding customer service is delivered and customer’s expectations are exceeded.

One of Sandra’s key roles is to maintain the friendly and efficient service culture in which The Royal Yacht has become so highly regarded.

Claudio Abreu Head of Restaurants

Claudio Abreu came to Jersey and took up the role of Restaurant Manager in Café Zephyr at The Royal Yacht in August 2007. In December 2008 he was also made Manager of Restaurant Sirocco.

Before moving to the island, Claudio gained a wealth of experience in his home town of Madeira, working in various positions, from waiter to sommelier to head waiter, suitably preparing him for the diverse role of managing Café Zephyr and, later Restaurant Sirocco. Craig Alder Entertainment Manager and Resident DJ

Craig joined the Royal Yacht 5 years ago with the sole purpose in mind of creating a 'must go' venue of the Drift. He is dedicated to making sure everyone that crosses the threshold has a fantastic time. But he hasn't stopped there, putting together some great events on the first floor of the hotel with entertainment company Firethorn. Craig has welcome world class DJ's and acts to the hotel such as Boy George and  Felix Da Housecat - to name but two. And he has some great plans for the future which we'll all be hearing about soon.

Craig Alder Entertainment Manager and Resident DJ

Coming from Jersey, Channel Island in the U.K, Craig has been DJing for well over 20 years and first started DJing in the early 90’s whilst travelling to Asia and landing residencies at some of the best Clubs and Parties in the Southern Thai Islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.
Alongside Thai Legend DJ “A”, Craig was one of the first UK DJs to regularly play at the infamous Santa Fe in Koh Samui with a twice-weekly residency. In addition to this he would also play the monthly Full Moon Parties at Paradise Resort & The Back Yard with the likes of Lee Burridge, Back Yard Dave and DJ Christian from Hong Kong.
Since returning to the UK Craig has not only continued with a successful DJ Career holding down, to date, a six year weekly residency at a 1,000 capacity nightclub the Drift and has also gone on to set up numerous Parties under his promotions company “Firethorn Productions”.
